Description Type 1350

There are two base models in the haacon range of lifting, rolling and loading systems for mobile tactical shelters and Containers and they differ primarily in their maximum handling capacity. The type 1350.10 system has a maximum handling capacity of 10,000 kg; the type 1350.6.5 system has a maximum handling capacity of 6,500 kg.

In operation, if required, the shelter or Container to be handled can be lifted directly from its transporting vehicle (maximum loadbed height of 1.75 m), to then be lowered to a rolling height of 460 mm. The tug or other suitable towing vehicle is then attached for movement to the carrying aircraft, where the aircraft's integral winch system is used to pull the shelter or Container into the load area.

Both systems will load in to the transport aircraft without any dismantling and remain fully operational at wind speeds of up to 64 km/h and throughout a -30 to +50°C temperature range. Maximum rolling speed is 24 km/h and both systems will operate an slopes of up to 2°. Options include an automatic brake (in case of winch failure) and electric motor drive. For motor operation 2 X 700 W motors at 24 V DC give a lifting time of approximately six minutes. The type 1350.6.5 set weighs 1,056 kg and the type 1350.10 set weighs 1,300 kg.

On behalf of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), haacon has developed a suitable lifting and transport rack for the load/unload of the COBRA (COunter Battery RAdar) to and from trucks, aircraft and rail flatcars. Following testing, the system was accepted into service in July 2005.

Description Type 1889

The type 1889 lifting device with an automatic levelling is designed for handling and depositing containers with a maximum gross weight of 5, 10 or 20 tonnes transported on transport vehicles.

The containers are deposited using four pinion supports with spur gears and a swivelling mounting. During transport each jack is swung in against the front of the container, locked with pins and secured. Support plates, crank handles and connection shafts can be stowed separately. With a total lifting height of 1750 mm, the lifting device can deposit containers from heights of up to 1650 mm above the ground. The large support plates makes is suitable for use outdoors on firm ground.

The lifting device is powered by four electric motors (24 V, 335 W), which are supplied from the electricity system on the truck (complete mobile). Type 1189 lifting equipment can also be supplied for operating on 230/400 V mains. Emergency manual operation is also possible. For this purpose the rack supports at the front are connected by a telescoping connection shaft. The motors can take the container through the complete lifting range in 8 1/2 minutes, so that the container can be available within 15 minutes.
A mobile hand-held controller makes it easy to control system, with all the functions being activated with a joystick. All the electrical components comply with safety class IP 65.
